Michael has had a relationship with music since he began singing at 2. Michael grew up on a steady diet of musical variety including 1950’s and 60’s icons, Motown, Doo-Wop and Elvis. Eventually that diversity grew into a passion for 80’S and 90's alternative sounds evident in the way Michael approaches a vocal attack. This passion for music in all it’s forms propelled Michael to start listening to as many styles as possible.
After graduating HS he was able to harness that passion and help form Who Cares with an amazing group of like-minded individuals. Each member brought something unique to the band. Writing, recording, touring and exploring musical realms was an amazing and integral part of Michael’s life for the next several years. The touring eventually took its toll and by 2000 it was time to explore some other life goals. In 2006, Who Cares had an amazing reunion show, which began to stoke those old fires of creativity. After that show, Michael began exploring the idea of writing solo songs.
Over the next 10 years he began accumulating marble notebooks full of songs about love and loss and everything in between. In 2017, he finally had the opportunity to go back into Sabella Studios and record an album full of original songs composed almost entirely on the ukulele. Releasing “Dematerialized” in December of 2018 was so thrilling and cathartic for Michael. Once again, WC came back together in 2018 for their most successful reunion show yet. Basking in the glow of that gig, the band wanted to see what new songs were left to write. A year of meetings and writing produced “One Tribe”. This is an album that reflects the current world through the creative prism of Who Cares and Michael could not be prouder of the music.
